As most of you are aware, the BOMA International Conference and Expo came to Salt Lake City June 22-25. This is a momentous occasion for BOMA Utah and showcases how much our local association has grown over the past 10 years. Salt Lake City represented well with over 4,500 attendees. The feedback and comments were consistent that we have a “beautiful state and clean city”. We also had 47 members and 39 volunteers at the convention from BOMA Utah.
We set a record for PAC donations with over $22,500 raised. The next highest total was $18,000 which included a golf tournament at the world renown Turnberry Isle – Miami, Florida. This is an amazing accomplishment that would not have been possible without our friendly and outgoing volunteers. I would like to give special recognition to our PAC Tee Shirt Sponsors, Image Property Services and City Creek Reserve, who went above and beyond in many ways to help make the PAC booth successful.
Also, no BOMA International conference would be complete without the international TOBY award celebration. A big congratulations and thanks go to our three regional winners 170 South Main Managed by Tammy Rasmussen, Kirton McConkie managed by Spencer Loock, and WAXIE Sanitary Supply, submitted by Ann Williams. While they did not take home the international TOBY, Tammy, Spencer, Ann and their teams, showcased just how great commercial real estate is in Utah.
In addition, BOMA Utah would like to give a special thank you to City Creek Reserve, Inc., the owners of City Creek Center and 111 South Main, and their guides, for their hospitality in touring our International attendees through these state of the art properties.
Last but not least, this convention would not have been possible without our convention committee. Scott Bennion, our Immediate Past President, and Courtney Long, our Executive Director, co-chaired the committee and made sure that everyone attending the conference would leave knowing what a great place Utah is to live, work, and play.
Please join me in thanking all of our amazing members that were involved in making this convention such a huge success.
